So yesterday I did about an hour with an olympic lifting coach getting started on learning the snatch. He said I picked it up quicker than most and that really good progress was made. We essentially did hang snatches from the power position with a training bar and two 10s (35 lbs total).
Today my traps are sore and it feels like the joints of my shoulders took a beating as well. My shoulder muscles themselves aren’t sore, it’s a deeper kind of irritation. My friend said it was from letting the weight crash on my joints or the fact that I did about 5-10 overhead squats never having done them before.
My question now is, should I go back for the 1.5 hour beginner snatch class today despite the shoulder irritation?
