Hi guys I’m slowly transitioning from pl to oly. Right now I also compete in track and found that jump squats really feel good for explosiveness. So I was wondering, if they help your power, will they translate to the oly lifts well?
I’m not a fan of jump squats and definitely not to improve your OLifts. If you must jump, just jump. Don’t load up with weights. Your body gets enough of a load jump without additional weights.
The best thing about the OLifts in terms of jumping is that it teaches you to open up your hip angle really quickly. But it does take some technical proficiency to do this properly.
