They are both pretty much the same price, however the pro spot doesn’t even require you to twist your wrists in order to catch the bar.

Either way, I train at home by myself and have never had any trouble with a regular power rack that cost me 190 pounds. [/quote]

It cost you 190 pounds? How long did it take to gain all that back?

@boss99er: Thanks, I’ll try that next time.

@Tribulus: I get your point, indeed a lot of money for a bit of ‘convenience’…

Thanks to everyone who has provided comments and suggestions! Very much appreciated and it has definitely helped with my decision. I will go for a powercage with high/low pulley and a good bench with possibility for decline, flat and incline (all the way to (near) vertical for shoulder/military presses) as well as leg curl/extension and some extra weigths. Will cost me about half of what the Jones would cost.

Is it just me or was that music originally intended for a soft core porn?

I don’t know man. I have no experience with this at all, but the whole electronically controlled aspect makes me nervous.

I’d hate to have this thing stop working while I was counting on it to keep me from getting crushed.

Yeah I know what you mean. There’s no substitute for a good pair of spot bars by your side, cold, reliable steel.

Exactly

Just go pick up some wood and make your own powerrack, well under 100. A buddy and I have dummped 900ish lbs on it just to see what would happen and it came out good. Just take the time and do it right.

With that $ you could buy so much more equipment
