ProfX points out who I consider the main man to watch in the DNC. He is outspoken and doenst fit the typical liberal mold that the DNC has been putting in front of the American public.
Do your research. I think he has the drive and character to be the first African American elected by the DNC as their primary candidate for President.
He really only became a serious candidate when the incumbant ran into his personal problems, then all of a sudden he became a viable candidate. That doesn’t mean he won’t be a star for the Dems., he sure seems smart and well spoken.

The fact that you have to ask that question may be his greatest accomplishment…avoidance of the bullshit.[/quote]
This is a big accomplishment in this day and age of 24 hour news and the internet.
I don’t know if the Senate is the best route to the presidency. Due to it’s nature almost all Senators have strange voting records that can be used against them.
Any governors out there that are considered good candidates?
The Senate might just be the worst possible route to the Presidency. John Kennedy was the last Senator to become President way back in 1960. One would think that if becoming a Senator was the best road to the White House there would have been more than one candidate to make it in over 45 years.
I think Hillary will be the democrats choice next time around. John Kerry will probably give it another shot, and Al Gore as well. However, the stima of “loser” follows both of those Presidential hopefulls.
I also agree with your thought process on Hillary. While she has played it very smart since the election, I think it’s only a matter of time before she erupts. My bet is that she will keep cool until after she wraps up the nomination.
Obama smells of youth and inexperience. If the dems place him in the national spot light to early he will melt like so much wax under a hot light.

Obama has one of the most impressive resumes to date, especially at the age of, I believe, only 44. Young? Yes. Inexperienced? No. I think the man knows exactly what he is getting into. He wouldn’t have made it that far if he didn’t. You simply haven’t heard any dirt on him…so you discredit him right off? Interesting.

From http://obama.senate.gov/about/
Barack Obama has dedicated his life to public service as a community organizer, civil rights attorney, and leader in the Illinois state Senate. Obama now continues his fight for working families following his recent election to the United States Senate.
Sworn into office January 4, 2005, Senator Obama is focused on promoting economic growth and bringing good paying jobs to Illinois. Obama serves on the important Environment and Public Works Committee, which oversees legislation and funding for the environment and public works projects throughout the country, including the national transportation bill. He also serves on the Veterans ? Affairs Committee where he is focused on investigating the disability pay discrepancies that have left thousands of Illinois veterans without the benefits they earned. Senator Obama will also serve on the Foreign Relations Committee.
During his seven years in the Illinois state Senate, Obama worked with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. Obama also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama enlisted the support of law enforcement officials to draft legislation requiring the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.
Obama graduated from Columbia University in 1983, and moved to Chicago in 1985 to work for a church-based group seeking to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods plagued with crime and high unemployment. In 1991, Obama graduated from Harvard Law School where he was the first African American editor of the Harvard Law Review.
I am sorry if that doesn’t live up to your standards. As we all know, you have outdone this and more.

How much does he bench?
Thanks for posting that. I did wonder what his background was.
Yeah, I think Obama would be a great candidate. He is really the only current polititian who inspires me. I watched him speak at an NAACP event in Detroit last Sunday and he really combines the best of democratic (equality, etc.) and republican values (personal responsibility etc.).
I still don’t think he can win soley on the basis of how racist our country still is.

Cream asked for a resume. I gave him his resume. Exactly what would your resume say about you? Do you think he lied about what was written? If not, then why post what you did?

Imagine that, his website plays up silly things like being editor of the Harvard Law Review. Just like a personal website to try and color such a credential as being something positive.
