Okay. So first off, I was unable to even step foot in a gym until today because this weekend was packed. Couldn’t get a minute to step out until today. Interesting session today, though. I stalled on press and DL, though for DL my clip came off the bar and the weight slid. For squats, however, I hit another new PR.
2 x 5 x 45
1 x 5 x 95
1 x 3 x 140
1 x 2 x 190
3 x 5 x 235
The first set of working squats went up smooth, for the second set I had the bar too low on my back and for the third set I was fatigued, so the weight didn’t go up as smoothly as I wanted it to. But, it still went up. All sets were completed successfully. Will be adding 5 lbs. of weight next workout instead of the 10 lbs. I have been adding.
2 x 5 x 45
1 x 5 x 50
1 x 3 x 75
1 x 2 x 95
3 x 5 x 105 — (was broken up into 2 x 5, 1 x 4, and 1 x 1).
Presses went up well the first two sets—but for that third set, boy was it a grind. I got 4 reps out of it, but that 5th rep wasn’t there. I put the weight down, and got it up for another single about 1 minute later. All my reps were completed.
2 x 5 x 115
1 x 3 x 170
1 x 2 x 240
1 x 5 x 285 — (was broken down into 1 x 3, 1 x 1, and 1 x 1).
The first working rep DL of 285 went up really well. The second rep was a bit harder. And then, the weight slid all over the bar. I tried to fix it before going for another rep, but it wouldn’t stay, and my third rep absolutely sucked. It went up, though. The fourth and fifth reps had to be done as singles with about 2-3 minutes of rest in between them. All my reps were completed.
Decent session today. I’m gonna feel it tomorrow, though. . Going to start adding in PC’s instead of DL’s every other workout, and I’m only going to be adding 5 lbs. to my squat per workout from now until the next time I stall. I will need to purchase 1.25 lb. plates for the press and bench. Phase I lasted about 2 weeks.
