Jihad Jane

Anyone following this? How in the hell does the CIA and the FBI miss this for so long?

JIHAD JANE’S POISON FAMILY
HER BOMBER COUSIN
By DEBBIE SCHLUSSEL
Prouty: Related to extremists and terrorists.November 20, 2007 – THE story of the US government’s bungling in the case of Nada Nadim Prouty - “Jihad Jane” - gets worse and worse. Here are two more danger signs in her background that got overlooked: her cousin the terrorist, and her family’s involvement in the Syrian National Socialist Party.

That’s right: It’s not just Prouty’s links to the terrorists of Hezbollah that got missed, but her ties to a Nazi party.

Since Prouty pleaded guilty last week to naturalization fraud and conspiracy, as well as unauthorized computer access at her FBI and CIA jobs, the two agencies have launched probes of how they bungled background checks before employing her. Then came reports that her sister, now a commissioned Marine officer, pulled a similar sham-marriage scam to gain US citizenship. But the scandal will only grow with this new information.

The failure of the background checks on Prouty puzzles sources familiar with her family’s background in Lebanon.

The Syrian National Socialist Party is actually an organization in Prouty’s native Lebanon, where everyone knows it’s a pawn of Syria’s Baathist dictatorship; its stated goal is the formation of a greater Arab state, including Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Cypress and part of Turkey.

Prouty’s maiden name is Al-Aouar - and the Al-Aouar family is noted back in Lebanon for its extremist political activity on behalf of the SNSP. That activism is all the more notable, because they are members of Lebanon’s Druze minority - distinct from Syria’s usual Shia Muslim allies there, and generally at odds with Hezbollah.

And intelligence sources from Israel and its old ally, the South Lebanese Army, say that Prouty’s cousin, Nidal Al-Aouar, was a terrorist - one who trained in North Korea and the old USSR and went on to set roadside car bombs in Lebanon on behalf of Syria.

That the CIA did not uncover these elements of Prouty’s background is cause for concern, since it is hardly a secret in Lebanon and Syria.

But it’s not just security agencies that have bungled this case. Prouty’s lawbreaking was eventually exposed because of ongoing investigations of her brother-in-law, indicted Hezbollah financier Talal Chahine (to whom she is accused of disclosing classified information on three Hezbollah-related investigations that involve him).

Chahine laundered over $20 million to Hezbollah through his Michigan restaurant chain, according to a federal indictment unsealed in 2006. But his support of Hezbollah was rumored in Detroit’s Arab community for years prior to that.

Indeed, top law-enforcement authorities had to have known about Chahine’s involvement in immigration fraud and bribery on behalf of Prouty and other Lebanese nationals since at least 2003. That was when agents began investigating the INS’ top Michigan official, Roy Bailey, for (among other things) taking bribes from Chahine in immigration/deportation matters.

With this information and more about Chahine and Prouty available to the government by early 2004, why was Prouty allowed to remain with the CIA until this September?

Their incompetence is staggering but I am sure they had to complete investigations of every christian working there before they could start on the muslims.

I stopped reading after “her ties to a Nazi party”.

Oh Rupert Murdoch, we love thee…

What? This is a widely reported story. Why the hell would you stop reading because she has ties to a nazi party? Not to mention the Hezbohs.

Wow, I guess Zionists and Israelis should give be concerned. Maybe AIPAC too!

As for other Americans, we shouldn’t give two shits about Israel’s problems/enemies.

I’ve seen her pic. I’d hit it!!

(j/k)

Given Lixy’s well documented hatred of all things Jewish, and you have to ask why she would stop reading when it got to the Nazi part?

Well, the author called the SSNP a “Nazi party”. That should set alarms in most people’s heads. You’d have to very unfamiliar with it and ignorant of the history of the region to remain indifferent to the claim. But I guess it must fly well with NYP readers…

Anyway, I still don’t have a clue what’s a “Jihad Jane” nor what the story is about despite reading a great deal of papers. I tried to look up the story on other news outlets based on the “article’s” title and the thread, in vain. If you can find semi-decent coverage of the story, do share. I’ll be interested in reading it.

That’s right: It’s not just Prouty’s links to the terrorists of Hezbollah that got missed, but her ties to a Nazi party.

I googled the claim above and it seems to be BS . Surprisingly there are a few national socialist parties today that are not meant to be Nazi succesors.

This is an attempt to smear her or the journalist did less research than me (2 minutes).

Does Murdoch write or ok every article that gets printed or read on television? How little you know about how the mass media works!

Damn straight. If we would have concentrated our concerns on Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda the war against them would probably have been over by now.

Perhaps gatesoftanhauser, who has served and put himself at risk, forgot the role of Hezbollah in the death of 282 Marines who were in Lebanon to protect Christians and Muslims?

I am sure, GK, that he, like me, another American, does not want Hezbollah agents rummaging around in FBI and CIA files:

“A Lebanese national who fraudulently gained U.S. citizenship through a sham marriage managed to obtain sensitive jobs at both the FBI and CIA, and at one point used her security clearance to access restricted files about the terrorist group Hezbollah, according to court documents filed yesterday.” (washington post)

This could be about “Israel’s enemies,” or it could be about ours.

I did not forget about what those bastards did to the Marines. I blame both Hezbollah and Iran for that.

But my opinion is: After 9-11, Bush declared the war on terror. Israel said it would not go along with it but would fight their terrorist enemies their own way.

So, let them. . .

Iran at this point was backing us up, with vigils and such. Even the leader of Hezbollah denounced Bin Laden and al-qaeda.

Next thing you know, Israel captures an Iranian ship bring arms to Hezbollah, and Iran is included in the Axis of Evil.

As a direct result, the Iranians elect an asshole as their president and the situation deteriorates into what you’ve got today.

(the Iraq war is another story)

My feelings are: if we’ve got a middle eastern terrorist group which is denouncing the one who directly attacked American soil, why not negotiate with them, use their members to infiltrate and destroy al-qaeda from within? Who better to do so than someone who knows the ins and outs of islam, the language, the territory, and terrorism itself?

As far as Hezbollah stealing our secrets, I heard Israeli agents have been doing the same thing. They busted a few a while back. Israel goes as far as to sell our technology to our Chinese enemies.

Just my 2 cents on the deal.
