It's Good to Have Goals

Hi, Energy (just had to say it). Good lifting. Try to get your hands closer together on the bar. Ideally, your arms should be vertical.

Thanks! I will try to remember that

It’s easy. Just figure out what your shoulder width is. Then grip the bar so the same distance is between hands.

So…im gonna have to admitt my back is pretty sore from last week, but I was able to work through my lighter day of deadlifts/Legs:

Deadlifts:
3x5 95
3x5 135
1x 175 (2)

Front Squats:
5x65
5x75
5x90
5x95
5x105

Good work for a old beat up mule…lol hope your lower back gets better sooner than later.

Rick

Thanks (I think) Rick…LOL…me too I hope I wake up tommorow new, have a feeling that is a pipe dream… this injury/sore stuff is getting in my way…grrrr, see ya at the gym

Nice work! Don’t sell yourself short. You’ve got more gumption and grit in you…deep breath, you’ll make your goal.

Was able to hit the gym during my lunch break from work:

Knocked out 4 straight through complexes of 8 reps each at 45 pounds (BAR)
(was not gonna push the weight today, back some better fighting through it)

Not sure I have this right but thinking this is what I did…ya see I am becoming a reformed non book person and trying to keep track

Upright Rows
Overheaed Clean
Overhead Press
Squats
Good Mornings
Bent over Row

Also did two other complexes and about 50 sit ups to finish off my low calorie lunch

BodyWeight 140

Thanks Meg, this old Mule needs to regroup, repair, and resume a great workout

Yeah, well this “old Mule” thinks you’ve got nothing to complain about age wise:) Good job with the workout and your new found notebook skills!

Did 6 sets of complexes (new ones I found) today 2 different complexes split them up one as 5 reps the other as 6 reps consecutively did one then the other switching between:

Still struggling with left side back strain, seems to have moved from all of the back and centralized on my left side, did some rolling and stretching to try to get the kinks out.

sets of 6 50 pounds/bar (3 times) 6X5

Deadlift
Upright Row
Squat Clean
Front Squat
Push Press from Chest up
Back Squat
Burpees

Sets of 5 50 pounds/bar (3 times) 6X6
Barbell Squat
Push Press
Front Squat
Wide Grip upright Row
RDL (romanian Deadlift)
Traditional Deadlift

Finished it off with straight through 10 minutes Miles 1.5 Miles for 15 minutes

Decided I wanted to stop and lay by the pool to finish off that part of my day

Welcome.

Looks like you use a tremendous amount of lower back with your pulling. Which isn’t all that uncommon on a max effort. But be careful.

Thanks KPSNAP…I know…need to watch that!
