Is Water In Addition to the Shakes?

Are the 8 8 oz glasses of water part of the water used for the protein shakes, or is it 8 glasses of water on top of the shakes?

I am asking because I am peeing a ton.

I’m actually not a fan of water recommendations. (That part was added to my plan.) If you’re thirsty, drink. If not, don’t sweat it.
