Is Trump the Greatest President in US History?

You often believe books written by ex cons with multiple forgery charges. Wasn’t Sinclair outed as a right wing activist as well. Good get rich quick scheme though some people will buy anything. Maybe I can write one about Trump and liberals will buy it up?

Larry Sinclair had 13 aliases in Colorado. But I’m sure he is telling the truth over this one.

If we are going with Obama conspiracy theories let’s skip right to “The Lizard King: The Shocking Inside Account of Obama’s True Intergalactic Ambitions by an Anonymous White House Staffer.”

That happened to you know

The sheeple will believe whatever the fake news tells them and ignore the evidence about Obama. I can’t help you.

I actually don’t think so, for two reasons. One, they are scholars and historians, so they are being more objective and giving weight to the consequential nature of FDR’s presidency. Second, they aren’t using the right-wing pop version of history - “FDR was a socialist demon” - as their framework: the history goes deeper, such as the (Second) New Deal’s strong antitrust push (that made markets competitive over a long haul, and improving markets is not bad from a conservative point of view - well, it used to not be), and FDR’s role as warfighter in WWII.

Ok so I did some digging around after you guys confirmed that Trump was a [insert negative connotations], and I have to say I’m a little taken aback by what he is saying about his daughter Ivanka (although she is smoking hot so I sorta sympathize). Couple quotes:

"Although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said that if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”

"Is it wrong to be more sexually attracted to your own daughter than your wife?”

Now I can really see all this being taken out of context, but from what I have see of Trump, he actually just says this crap to make the headlines. Especially when he was running for President.

On one hand I think it’s crazy that he has made it to the figure-head of the largest military force and one of the largest economic powerhouses, but on the other hand I think he is a champ. He is a winner and he knows how to get shit done.

This is again, just an outsider looking in.

FDR probably did the things that had to be done, due to the calamitous circumstances - I begrudgingly admit. But it would be hard for me to think that only altruistic measures were taken by a man with his patrician upbringing. I think his medical issue prevented his taking over as a ‘king’.

Funny, l don’t feel like that about his cousin Teddy, one of my favorites. Who also did things l bemoan now as Rino,

Politics makes you crazy - participant and observer.

They also universally put Wilson in the top 10. FDR did some great things, and him bringing the US into war with Hitler does get him a large chunk of goodwill.

Wilson was downright villainous.

Me too. I’ve heard it said much better many times by just regular guys.

I ran into a guy that I hadn’t seen in about 20 years and his oldest daughter had become absolutely smokin hot.

Me(with shocked look) “Wow. She really has grown up.”

Him (looking kinda proud) “Yeah, she looks just like her mom at that age.”.

Much more subtle and polite while completely avoiding the ickyness that Trump seems so adept at.

He is the greatest President if you’re in the fossil fuel industry. Disagreeing with the overwhelming majority of scientists on global warming not to mention his disasterous healthcare bill he wants to pass. All the while admitting that single-payer is superior. Looks like the swamp is draining him not the other way around. So much for his campaign mantra,

It’s all about attitude. Teddy did something because he wanted to. The man bought naval ships without permission, set up a PMC and tanked his own successor as a 3rd party candidate for Christ’s sake!

There are stories of the man arresting hoodlums who had escaped into the woods, and punching out armed men. The man, in a word, was gangsta.

Today the folks are saying one thing and doing another and making a joke out of the electorate. So I think your disjoint is an understandable one.

If a modern day President did that who was not named Obama there would be hell to pay.

But I agree with you Teddy Roosevelt might be our greatest President…top 3 for sure.

If any modern day POTUS bought naval ships without permission there would be hell to pay.

There was hell to pay when Obama didn’t produce his BIRTH CERTIFICATE in a timely manner, not sure why you think a Republican Congress would ignore him buying ships without permission.

Should we start a standalone president rating thread? One where the word “Trump” is banned. I’d like to read some cool debate without the word “Trump” near it.

Really now what sort of hell to pay was there? Internet cheap shots? LOL Keep trying …

You mean a second best President thread? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Great idea. Are we going to rank all of the Presidents from Washington on up? Just the top 10? Do we have two categories one for modern day and one for earlier times?

Yes exactly!

I’d like to rank them all. Just googled and CSPAN and many others have all done it already. Why not put a TNation/internet spin on it… We could rank them by “broness” who would you most like to hang out with and have a beer with?

We could use their best and worst quotes to get a feel for their character.

How about an uncomfortable number of Americans genuinely believing he’s a foreign born Muslim and/or the antichrist and making their voices heard?

Does “hell to pay” only apply when the media gets angry about something? Even then, Fox ran that story for quite a while.
