All of us have to deal with factors that limit progress. These factors can be divided into two categories: Those you can't control, and those you can. And yes, your age is definitely affecting your rate of progress. But as it is a factor you can't control, there's no sense fretting over it. Instead, focus on the factors you can control, namely, your diet, your training and your recovery. As has been mentioned several times above, the folks on this subforum are willing and able to provide input/feedback concerning all three. The only thing I would add is that you need to tell us what your goals are vis a vis weightlifting--that is, are you primarily concerned with getting stronger, vs getting leaner, vs competing in an athletic event, etc.
Oh, and I will turn 53 this year.
