by the time i get out of the gym and home its 9:15pm. after drinking a protein shake (2 cups milk 1 scoop protein 2 tbsp peanut butter) the last thing i feel like doing is eating anything else. i’ve gained 17 lbs in 3 monthes but would it make that much more difference if i forced myself to eat after the pwo shake???
The only way you’ll ever know the difference it will make for you is to try it.
It’s really not all that hard. Just plan ahead and have your PWO shake while still at the gym.
Or, you could begin sipping a peri-workout shake 5 minutes before your workout.
Doesn’t sound like a great PWO meal anyways, but I guess it’s better than nothing.
But, what you’re doing seems to be working, so keep at it.
What time do you go to bed? I’d try to get in one more meal or shake even before going to bed
You already seem to be combining your PWO shake and meal into one anyway. Simply smacking the protein right after your workout, then eating (the milk and PB) 30-60 min later would be what you are looking at. You could then tweak your meal if you wish with fruits, veggies, or Superfood and a little fish oil.
