Internal or external

Do SUPINE grip rows (bentover or seated) internally or externally rotate the humerus?

Normal rows are external but pullups are internal and this is a hybrid of the two…

Supinated grip rows are related to increased involvement of the subscapularis and lats, and therefore, internal rotation.

Pronated grip rows are related to increased involvement of the external rotators, and therefore, external rotation.

There have been EMG studies done on these different grips; Mike and I took this into consideration for the upcoming programs in our NNM series.
