not the glycemic index but the total content of carbs in any food.
example… I cup of milk = 12 grams of carbs.

what would happen if my main source of carbs are from fruit and veggies? cutting out rice pasta and bread? is that a good plan?
Yes, fruits and veggies are a better choice. Eat more veggies than fruit.
