Increasing Reps Question

okay if my 1rm was 40lb for dumbell curls and i put 50 on and lifted as much as i could until i couldn’t move my arm up any more, would that work for upping my reps on normal sets?

In theory yes its like an isometric trying to move an immoveable object go for time under tension and push againts that weight for say 10 secs I wouldnt do it more than say once a week lots of damage can be done.

Another option would be doing eccentric with the supermaximal load. lift w/ both hands lower slowly with one.
