To change things up a bit I started doing incline pushups instead of the usual incline bench press. I noticed that I get long lasting soreness in my upper back and post delts when I do this. Am I doing something wrong or is this usual?
It’s just your body getting used to them. try decline push-ups as well.
Thanks for the reply man. I have done decline between chairs for full range of motion for a long time now, but I’ve never noticed the same pain. Can this interfere with my back workout the following day or is it just from stretching or something?
You may also want to check your neck position. If I do them without blocks or handles, my neck ends up too far back, and I get the same pain.
