Improve the Squat Without Squatting

You don’t have to back squat heavy to improve your squat but you HAVE to squat. The carry over for the squat from other accessories is just not the same as it is for a deadlift.

If you are a raw competitor, the majority of your training should be to execute the big 3 which means you need to squat, bench and pull. If you don’t learn those motor patterns over and over, what does assistance really matter? Don’t over complicate the training. Add in 2-3 exercises after the main lifts for assistance and call it a day.
