I'm Perkisizing!

@AquaSesserz: You are 425 in my book

@samoth: Itā€™s just another competition at my strength club on campus. I will do an actual meet sometime but I havenā€™t done any looking yet.

Yesterdayā€™s Lifting

A) Squat
275 x 3 x 2
285 x 3
295 x 3
315 x 2 x 3
All beltless and ez

B) Bench (w/ band work between sets)
225 x 3
235 x 3
245 x 3
255 x 3
265 x 2
275 x 2
285 x 2
295 x 2
All of the last reps were paused. These were also ee zee

Out to test my squat and probably OH press right now

Squatted 410 tonight with ease. 5 lb PR and 3 times as fast.

Worked up to an easy 335 paused bench today. Iā€™m thinking I should be able to hit 355 at the competition Saturday if things go well.

And this one for the luhlz

Cool. It might be worth thinking about a good while in advance, if you have to change your form. I know that the IPF/USAPL requires you to keep you feet flat on the ground during the bench and they seamed pretty strict at my meet. But Iā€™m sure youā€™ll have all bases covered when the time comes

Yesterday, 5 Days Out from Competition

A) OH Press
135 x 3, 145 x 3, 155 x 3 x 2
165 x 2 x 3
185 x 1

B) Bench
225 x 3, 235 x 3, 255 x 3 x 2
265 x 2, 275 x 2, 295 x 2
315 x 1

C) Deadlift
365 x 3 x 2, 385 x 3, 405 x 3
425 x 2, 455 x 2, 485 x 2 PR easy money
515 x 1

NOTES: I took out top-half bench from pins to reduce volume going into the meet. Iā€™ll most likely do only HFS work for squat, bench, and deadlift from tomorrow on. I might just work up to some decent singles tomorrow and Thursday and then do light speed work Friday. I donā€™t feel like I need a deload right now, so as long as I donā€™t do anything stupid, I plan on putting up some solid PRs this Saturday. Also, Iā€™m going to start putting up my diet again, because I feel when I do that it helps me stay on track with eating better.

Yesterdayā€™s diet:

8:30
rice cakes, banana, 2 scoops whey, 4g fish oil, 5,000 IU vit D

12:30
10g CH

2:45
6 caps Indigo

3:45
2 FINiBARS and Spike

4:15 (training)
30g CH, 90g dextrose

6:00
1 scoop Power Drive

7:00
7 eggs, 1 egg white (lol), 3/4 cup dry rice, broccoli, 4g fish oil

10:00
2 Z12

10:30
2 scoops whey, handful of almonds, ElitePro Mineral

Didnā€™t think about that. Iā€™ll definitely need to look into it soon. Thanks!

Training going awesome Adam, and congrats on the engagement! What is CH in yesterdays diet? Trying to figure it out and Iā€™m stumped.lol
Got some vids in my log now, would really appreciate a quick look in on form.
Thanks, Matt

Thanks, Matt!

CH = hydrolyzed casein. I canā€™t really afford MAG-10 right now, so Iā€™m using just straight CH thatā€™s a bit cheaper. Until I get an actual job, this and dextrose will have to do.

Will check it out!

4 Days Out

A) OH Press
135 x 3, 150 x 3
165 x 2, 175 x 2
185 x 1 x 4

AR: band holds and stuff

B) Bench
225 x 3, 245 x 3
275 x 2, 295 x 2
315 x 1 x 4
These were really easy.

AR: band work

C) Squat
275 x 3, 295 x 3
315 x 2, 335 x 2
355 x 1, 365 x 1, 375 x 1, 385 x 1

My squat sucks, but these were all easy lol.

NOTES: Felt pretty good today. Iā€™m taking it easy for the next three days to make sure Iā€™m ready to really hit it Saturday.

Tell me about it. Would kill to try some Biotest stuff and see if it is up to the hype! But the any supplements over here are expensive enough as it is! Will be a few years until Iā€™m done at uni and earning some decent moneyā€¦ Then I can think about it! Good luck with the competition too, Iā€™m sure you will beast it.

@mr179: Biotest products are amazing if you can afford it, no doubt. And thanks!

Iā€™m going to bed now, so Iā€™m not going too much into this session. I probably will not do anything for the next two days, so Iā€™m itching to get after it Saturday morning.

3 Days Out

A) Squat
Worked up to 375 for an easy single. This will probably be my opener. Maybe 375, 415, 445 depending on how things go.

B) Bench
315 x 1 paused
This will definitely be my opener. Iā€™m thinking 315, 335, 355

Iā€™ve been taking it rather easy in the gym this week. Going in and doing basically HFS work. Today was probably the first day Iā€™ve taken completely off of lifting in 2 or almost 3 weeks

Going to bed now. Iā€™ve got my competition tomorrow morning.

This is pretty much how I feel:

Meet Results

Bodyweight = 203 (down 10 lbs from my meet 4 months ago)
Total = 1,355 (up 110 lbs from my meet 4 months ago)

Squat (all attempts were good)
1st: 365
2nd: 405
3rd: 435 50 lb meet PR, 25 lb all time PR

Bench
1st: 315 good
2nd: 335 good and easy 5 lb meet PR
3rd: 365 miss, should have done 355

Deadlift (all attempts were good)
1st: 495
2nd: 545 15 lb meet PR
3rd: 585!!! 55 lb meet PR, 20 lb all time PR

NOTES: I planned my attempt to PR on 2nd attempts and pick the 3rd depending on how I felt. Unracking 435 it felt like a ton but I knew after I set up I had a good chance on hitting it. 335 was easy on bench and I panned to do 355 but everyone talked me into 365. If it were a sanctioned meet I would have been smarted and gone for 355 but this competition was just for fun so I went for it. It felt great once I had it in my hands but I just wasnā€™t tight enough, may have lowered it a bit too low on my chest and couldnā€™t finish it. I was pretty dead by the time we got to deadlift (lol) and didnā€™t know what would happen. Also, there was a BBer there competing that I was talking to during warmups. I chatted too long and got the 2 minutes warning that we were starting and I hadnā€™t even pulled 405 yet. So I pulled it, loaded 455, pulled it, and basically had to go for 494 right after lol. All in all, Iā€™m more than pleased with my results . . . . but not satisfied.

110lbs on a meet total in 4 months is no joke, congrats!

Already saw this awesomeness on your facebookā€¦ but seriously amazing work. You definitely have like 350 bench, 600+ deadlift and 450 squat in your close future.

Thanks, guys!

Well I was sick for the majority of last week, which explains my lack of posting. But, I ended up going to the Arnold expo for the weekend with my fiancee and had an amazing time. I got to meet BigIron, Serge, corst, and hex in person, and got to see Barachiel again so it was really fun. We all went out for dinner Saturday night and had a good time just talking shop of this and that. Hex took a picture that I think heā€™s going to throw up in the spill. I was bummed Hip Scar was planning on coming to dinner I think, but he is a busy dad!

Iā€™ll put some pictures up later but I just got done with a HW assignment and itā€™s almost midnight so Iā€™m a little tired now. But, I have a video of me meeting Mark Bell and trying his Sling Shot. It was awesome because I always watch his SuperTraining videos on YouTube so I was a bit star struck lol.

But, itā€™s time to get back at it and start getting stonger!

Upper Body and Deadlift
I took it somewhat easy at the start of this session since I felt abit sluggish after taking 5 days off from being sick. But, started to feel better as the session progressed.

315 x 1

Staggered Sets: band pulldowns

C) Bench w/ Sling Shot

365 x 3 x 2, 385 x 3, 405 x 3
435 x 2, 465 x 2, 495 x 2 PR easy

Consider me inspired as usual. Still jealous of your training facility

Iā€™m surprised Mark Bell wasnā€™t starstruck by the T-Nation superstar
