Hockey Skills Camp - 1 hour

Full rink length drills, lots of passing with edge work, A really good session

Scrimmage - 1 hour

Played the organized scrimmage afterwards. My knees felt goot, had fun.

Honestly in my life right now, my happiest moments are when I’m out playing hockey.

20170628 - Hockey

Skating Lessons - 1 hour
Wednesday Night Men’s Skate - 1 hour

Skating lessons was fun. It’s been a while since I had done this class, and I really have everything mastered excepts the backwards crossovers. I’ll need to hit some free ice time and work through that.

Men’s skate was NOT fun. 4 on 4 full ice with 1 on the bench. About halfway through we had a couple of extra guys show up so we had 2 on the bench, which helped. We need more guys to show up but it’s the summer dead time.

Did another skate. skill level was down from the Wednesday Night Skate. Just went to have fun.

20170630 - 531 - C37W2 Bench Press and Squats

Fast session, just the minimum

RIght knee hurt and did not want to cooperate. Still ground it out.

Will try to do the accessory lifting at the AAA gym tomorrow.

EDIT: This was one year by the day of the week that I went under for surgery to remove the mass on my mitral valve in my heart and woke up with nothing having been done because they took another look with ultrasound and it had disappeared.

20170702 - Hockey

Refereeing - 1 hour

Well, it was going ok until one of the players decided he was going to try to run into me. Our shoulders hit and he went into the boards and down. I went down and of course torqued the right knee. I got back up and stopped the game because he was still down. Apparently he got stunned, lol. Finished out the game and my knee was ok. Just will have to be sure to ice it all day tomorrow at the office.

20170703 - Stuff and Hockey

Stuff - 3 mile walk at lunch in 57 minutes

Hockey - 1 hour scrimmage.

I was in the upper third of the skaters, had fun.

I’m back. Catching up.

Did the Week 3 on C37 on the 4th. I was not able to press the one rep for military press and pull the one rep for deadlifts.

It could have been because I lifted in the morning for the first time ever, and went there just on coffee.

Hockey Wednesday night and Thursday night was good. I’m skating better then ever. Still a lot to work on but I’m anticipating a hell of a lot better.

Friday, right knee bitched big time. Spent the weekend wearing the brace and icing it. Not good.

Monday - today. Went to do the Bench part of C37. Skipping the squats.

Got the 225 lbs x 1 bench. Should have been easier but I got it up.

Going to drop everything back 2 cycles and rework through. Reviewing the Accessories options to make changes. I’m NOT going to be stuck where I’m at.

I’ve got two months to prep for my Double Nickel bday present to myself, I need my shoulders ready.

Threw in Arnold Press for accessory work tonight.

20170711 - Hockey

Skills Camp - 1 hour
Scrimmage - 1 hour

All the icing of my knee paid off. Skated with little pain. Camp was more passing and shooting drills, Fun but frustrating.

Scrimmage was a huge mix of skill levels. It’s frustrating trying to figure out what to do when half you teammates don’t know the right thing to do.

Wednesday Night Men’s Skate - 1 hour

This was much more challenging the then Tuesday skate. My first shift I got a sweet pass and scored on my first shot. Rest of the night went well. Anticipated well, made good plays. It was a good night.

I feel that I am skating better and faster, just one shot on goal but it was hard. I make better decisions in the game.

20170718 - Hockey

Skills Camp - 1 hour
Scrimmage - 1 hour

Camp was more stick handling, shooting drills and passing drills. A lot of simulating game situations.

Scrimmage was fun. I was in the upper half of the skill level, ended up playing defense against the better playes. My positioning and playing is improving.

Been rolling through the current 531 cycle. Scheduling is a mess, but hoping that will get straightened out soon.

Skated 3 hours today, refereed 2 games starting at noon, then did the Sunday night scrimmage at 730. Knee felt really good.

This is the eve of me turning 55 years old.

I was a little apprehensive. When I did this on Week 1, I got a hamstring cramp on the last set and bailed from the workout. No issues today, and my knees felt really good. I had the best depth for the squats in a long time.

Since I changes the template, I’m trying to figure out the new accessory work.
