I'm Old, Not Obsolete

Yes, a year ago,

Some carriage damage, not enough to waarent surgery.

The big issue is the week I was let out out the hospital from my stroke, I’m pretty sure I got a bad ACL tear.

I literally couldn’t walk for a couple of days.

I need to focus more on rehab work on it. And remember to ice it down more after exercise.

I have had issues for years with my right knee. I will need a knee replacement in to 5 to 7 years according to my doctor based on my MRI last year.

Got a synvisc injection which gave me about 90% relief and lasted about 4 months. Insurance only approves it once every 6 months so I had to get a cortisone injection to fill the gap before the next synvisc injection which was about three weeks ago. Might be worth checking into.

Thanks for the information.

And thanks for the comment on my lifting.

Looking buff, those PRs are helping out. Howz the new(ish) team going?

We’re running about the middle of the league right now.

It’s a much faster paced game then the level my old league wanted me to play at.

It’s a lot of fun in a painful way, lol.

Well… it was my team’s bye night in league. The team getting the bye is supposed to have someone show up to scorekeep and someone to referee.

I said I would scorekeep the games, but brought my referee gear to see if maybe I can skate one of the games.

Turns out I was the ONLY one from my team to show up so…

Refereeing - 2.5 hours

My right knee was not happy at the end of that. Got home and applied ice.

Skipped lifting on Tuesday, knee and lower back needed an off day.

So today…

Skating Lessons - 1 hour
Scrimmage - 1 hour.

Made some good passes, and defense plays. A couple of chances on net that just didn’t work out.

And a potential setback for me leaning out this year…

Well damn! You must be the luckiest person in Omaha :smirk:

Refereed two games for my old league. Right knee wasn’t too unhappy.

Actually it felt pretty good.

I don’t know about Brooklyn, but the best pizza in the Bronx is PePe’s!

I’ll have to get confirmation on that. My daughter goes to school in the Bronx.

Knee felt good throughout the day, Started getting gimpy during the scrimmage.

Made a couple of good passes, defensive plays. Skate went for an hour and a hlf, bailed because the knee just started to hurt with every stride…

Iced it down afterwards and shared my first free pizza with the other hockey guys.
