League Game - 1 hour

Won 6-5. Had my stick in on a tip at the net, but the puck went wide. Made a couple of good plays.

20161205 - Hockey

League game - 1 hour.

Our plan was to put the puck in the back of the net more then they would.

Unfortunately, they used our plan. Lost 1-10.

Best game yet for me, several good plays on offense and defense, plus several shots on net.

Right knee is not want to cooperate. I could barely bend it after the skating.

More rehab work is needed.

20161211 - Let your loved ones know you love them today.

Sadly, an accident claimed the lives of several in our hockey community.

Two brothers and a father were killed in a semi/multiple car wreck on I-80.

Love your family and friends today, for you do not know what tomorrow brings you.

So sorry to hear this. Praying for eveyone involved.

Bad knee, I’m sure it enjoyed the sauna though.

Skating Lessons - 1 hour
Scrimmage - 1.5 hours

Right knee did not want to cooperate in the skating lessons. Constantly hurt and got to where bending it was no bueno.

Iced it down between the skates. I currently have a 1.5 hour wait from when I finish lessons to when I scrimmage.

Lot’s of horse liniment, and off to the scrimmage. We had a lot of skaters tonight, basically 10 on the bench plus the 5 on the ice. I initially thought if my knee kept feeling the way it was, I was one shift and done.

Surprisingly, my knee did ok. Got a goal and an assist.

Lost 5-6. We were leading 5-2 at the end of the second, and the team relaxed. That came to bite us in the ass,

Refereed my first game in the new league. It went well.

Right knee was sore and an issue during the game and refreeing.

Awww man. Hope the knee gets to feeling better soon. My ex crushed his meniscus when he was in the coast guard. So when he aggravated it, his knee would “pop” out of place. Fast forward 20+ years later… We are sitting in the most upscale mexican restaurant in Tyler Tx. It pops out and the only way he can get it back together is to get on the floor do this weird rocking/ rolling around thing. OMG! He was devastated. Told him it’s a good thing it happened here instead of TacoBell, at least the floor was clean…lol. He did not find any humor in that. Don’t think we ever went back there to eat, too bad they had some killer fajitas.

Knee still gimpy, and the cold doesn’t help. It went to the negative teens overnight. Spent most of the day helping my 18 yo son get his car running in the cold. Seems 10-30W oil gets a little thick at these temps.

Fortunately, my Suburban uses 5-30W oil.

Hmmmm… is that “real” oil or synthetic? I have never seen real oil get that thick. Just curious.

Real.

It hit -30 here once, before windchill.

I had to use a propane torch on the oil pan of the junker pickup I had,
