Haven’t benched in a good while, but strangely the axle bar felt great on my shoulder. Hols hit a pr increase on her bench by 12.5kg!!

Never used an axle bar before, everyone says it’s better for the shoulders, need to get one and try it.
For not benching in some time those are solid numbers.

Yeah mate…i think its because it sits in my palms better and theres zero rotation on the collars…important given i bench with a thumbless grip. Hopefully this allows me to get back to some sort of regular benching…for me theres no better upper body power movement like it.
Thank u…i think the steep incline dumbbell pressing has helped maintain my pressing strength.

I did nothing but incline dumbbell press for years because of my shoulder issues and I was able to maintain a decent bench too. I worked in some swiss bar benching too, that I really like but I felt insecure when trying to bench upper 200’s, felt like I could drop it or some head game type deal. Hopefully the shoulder keeps getting better.

Actually got one of those angled swiss bars at Christmas, must have another bash at it for the bench. Maybe even for some volume work.

Happy with the deads today…thats the heaviest ive pulled since dropping 50lbs. 272kg/600lb+ WILL be pulled before my birthday in June.
