Hysterical Rolling Stones on Palin and Political Landscape

Great way to stress Etheogenes’ point.

THEY are ugly, but SHE’s a beauty queen!
Actually, it makes it quite well, though the point is obviously lost on an intellectual giant such as yourself. Palin is hated by movement feminists because she has what they don’t have but want: beauty, children, a stable marriage, success, fame, and fortune. These people project their anger at failing to obtain these things themselves on Sarah Palin in the form of irrational hatred.

Yes, your would be empress is butt naked. So shamelessly incompetent-naked that her interviews and the debate was pure stupidity porn.
And as to the second point, the writer is just as right: it makes me cringe thinking about how deperately some americans want to be led by the most useless and idiotic political scum.

It appears you have a firm handle on American politics (and reality) all the way over in Germany.

not to mention the english language.

Do you speak any language fluently beside english? Can you debate, argue and small talk in them?
Apart from English and German obviously, at least I’m able to do so in two more languages.

Oh, sweet mediocrephilia…

I speak the language of mathematics quite fluently. What does this have to do with what we’re discussing, other than to serve as yet another example of Euro-trash narcissism?

Great diversion, as if I had started this.
Obviously, my english skills suffice for debating/shit flinging in this forum.
Funny thing is, practically only tthe type of guys who endorse Palin regularly criticize foreign debaters in the forums.

I don’t think I have to point out why this is so.
PRCalDude wrote:
You whined that they don’t give equal criticism to related topics. I’m just pointing out that they don’t have to, even if you don’t like it.

I mentioned “equal time” to point out that they really have no problem with “primitive beliefs,” because they never mention Islam, and (having studied it quite a bit), it beats Christianity on the “primitive” scale by several 10s of dB. My argument was called “tu-quoque” (google it), except that I used a valid form of it, not the brand lixy always uses.

What they really don’t like is Christianity, except that you don’t hear them bringing up the “Rev. Wright” brand because Obama is a guy they like. In summary, they have hate against one person and nut-hugging for a different person whom they should also hate if IDENTICAL STANDARDS (the ones they themselves admitted they ignored for Obama) were applied. This is called “being irrational.” It’s neurotic.
You know more about what Rolling Stone publishes than I then.

Why bring up Islam then? Your argument would work just fine and dandy if you pointed that Obama has the same primitive beliefs as he is Christian as well.

For the record, I think that they are all primitive.

I never mentioned your English skills, for the record. And for the record, I think they are superb. My criticism of “foreigners” tends to be directed towards a specific set: those who project their own anger and national shortcomings onto America and Americans. You’ll notice a similar pattern in my writings against those who project all of their own problems and the problems of this country onto the Jews.

Feminists need only a good, firm guy, children and a cozy kitchen to shut the fuck up. This is known.
Just like that the media is strongly liberally biased and unions are and were always evil.

It cannot be be that Palin is hot but an idiot. My stiffy’s instinct is never wrong!

Yes and no. I was able to type “Islam site:rollingstone.com” into my google toolbar and get a feel for their views on Islam, which should technically fall into their “primitive beliefs” category if they’d every bothered to crack open a Qu’ran. Instead, you find relative fawning over it.

See above.

There was admittedly a nuance in my argument that may have been difficult to grasp upon first glance. However, liberals usually claim to be the ones who “do nuance” (you’ll find that to be a reference to liberal criticism of George W. Bush, who claims he doesn’t), so I ass-umed you’d understand me.

Thanks you.

Since you used the plural, would you kindly point to just one group that projects their national shortcomings to hate America, perhaps along with said shortcomings?

I think you realize I really have a problem with the strange and somewhat dangerously popular opinion in this forum that goes along the lines of: friends cannot ever critizise our perfect society.

I don’t get it, Mufasa. You keep saying that. You’ve gotta give Palin her due. People LOVE her. She’s energized the base. Social conservatives love her. Those who detest insider politicans and buy into her being a maverick love her. Certainly has 10 times the personality of McCain.

But at the same time, lots of people HATE her. Opinion polls on her qualifications to be president or even VP are dropping all the time. Her record as a fiscally conservative political reformer is dubious at best. Lots of people who’ve done the research, especially progressives, feel BETRAYED. I know 10 people who were undecideds who don’t think they can pull the trigger on McCain since Palin is on the ticket. And I certainly haven’t been taking polls. This is just what people tell me.

I think it’s really hard to know which way Palin cuts. Has she won more people to the McCain side than she’s alienated? Or would everyone that loves Palin, and identifies with her much more than McCain, have grumbingly voted for McCain anyway no matter who he chose?
Sorry, js!

I’ll be talking more about why I feel this election will be a win for McCain in all of the post-election discussions we are sure to have.

There are MANY things that just don’t add up in my mind…but again, I’ll be sharing those thoughts poat-election.

Wasn’t Bernard’s statement sort of, you know, racist? “I’ll round up some of my black friends, because they’re down for a little white rape!”
