How to Use Chains

I have chains at my gym, I have an idea on how to put them on the bar, but not completely sure for dlft, squat, benching without falling off or having one side have more weight then the other.

I know we have one set of chains I believe are meant to be attach to the bar because it has clips while the other large ones I believe are drapped around that one. I tried to read up on it on westside site or youtube, but wasnt completely sure.
