I'm using the OHP, Squat, Bench, Deadlift split and was wondering how often i should change the 2 acssesoire exercises? Can i stick to the same exercises to strengthen my weak point or should i cahnge it up?
I think 3-6 weeks is the general time frame to stick with something before switching, but if you keep experiencing improvements using a specific movement to better your weak point, why not keep it up until that slows down?
It takes a few weeks to become stronger on a movement and then a few more weeks to transfer the strength gained to the main lift. So yeah, 3-6 weeks is likely ideal. The more experienced someone is, the more toward 3 weeks.
This is more in term of strength gains than just building muscle size, for which you can vary your exercises more often
