Proof yet again, you need muscle to lift weights. I thought everyone knew this, I geuss not. Wonder if he gave up lifting after this…

lol, quite funny, but why is everyone trash talking him? i hope that didnt put him off for good, jeeze everyone starts somewhere.
how much was it anyway?
Every O-lift session I have ever had put my on my back at least once- particularily on snatches. Fortunately, my assbusts were not memorialized on youtube.
Shit I have done that as well. I just watched that video knowing exactly what was going to happen. It sucks and typically hurts your pride more than anything. Most of thos asswipes commenting have never even tried to lift anything much more O-lift.
What takes more balls? Going out there falling on your ass and getting up or being a keyboard warrior criticizing a 14 year old kid?..

Agreed.
Its clear a comp, atleast he went for it, just lost his balance.
These kinds of vids are only funny if stupidity is involved, he clearly just leaned back on accident.
The last thing we need is more people circulating videos like this.
I’m so fucking tired of people telling me I’m going to injure myself (wrong) because I’m lifting so much weight (ha…wrong as well).
Today I had someone complain to me how he isn’t gaining any weight, and that he needs to figure out an alternative to back squats since he lacks the flexibility necessary to get his hands on the bar.
In the SAME conversation he also said he thought it would be interesting to see how much my joints have aged from all the squatting I’ve done, and he reckoned that I (a 20 year old) probably had the joint age of a 40 year old.
I tried to explain to him that my joints feel awesome, that such an ‘aging’ system sounds preposterous, and that because of the strength and flexibility I possess, my joints probably have a much longer life ahead of them than most people’s joints do. But he wouldn’t have any of it.
ANYTHING that gives fuel to people who say lifting weights is dangerous pretty much needs to be hidden in a big box under the Pentagon, because this shit is out of hand.
And that kid made the Clean. Have you honestly never been thrown out of a clean before? That was posted a year ago, and the video is probably older than the original post date. That kid could be Cleaning 275 or 315 right now for all you know. He bought the Goddamn shoes. He’s clearly dedicated.

also, this was under “related videos” for that one.
Granted shes like 75 pounds max, but still.[/quote]
Everything looked great until he got a handful of crotch right at the end.
Like the person who posted that video, you sound like you have no idea what you’re talking about. What does losing balance after a clean have to do with attempting more weight than one is capable of lifting? BTW, he was attempting a clean and jerk, not press.

First off, it was a decent clean, so I’m not sure how that’s a “how not to clean” video.
Second, I’ve seen lots of upper level oly lifters end up on their back under a clean, many of them were probably more muscular than you.
Third, “you need muscle to lift weights”? Maybe he’s lifting weights to build muscle. Or maybe he’s competing as an oly lifter and could care less what you think about his physique since that doesn’t affect the outcome of his competition.
Props to the kid for getting on the stage and lifting.

Tried to put in an edit right after I made the post to say clean and jerk but like 1/2 the stuff I post on this site it didnt show up.
You all are right I jumped on him a bit, he is doing something I’ve never done yet, compete. So I will give him some props, but something about the way he fell and knowing he wasnt hurt still made it a little comedic. I shouldnt of said what I did in the first post thinking about it now. What if there was a video of me failing on my bench with no spot. I know I would get some lovely youtube comments. Thanks for opening my eyes all the way.
Post the vid.
How is that a powerclean
Did you see how high he caught it? That was a powerclean.
And it wasn’t even that much weight. The blue ones are what, 10kg? So he’s lifting a little over a hundred pounds?
Why does everyone give props to people just for competing?
69kgs is the weight class.
From what I can tell he has 67, 67.5 or 70kgs on the bar.
He catches it way too low, compared to his pull IMHO.

Because actually competing is more than what 90% of the people on this site will ever do.

I can definitely see him trying to ‘muscle’ it through certain portions, and I think he knew it.

2.5kg jumps aren’t used in weightlifting.
