How Much Caloric Surplus?

How much caloric surplus should you consume in order to build muscle?

In general a good start and guesstimate 250-500 and see what that does. Try and add a lb or two a week its going to be different for everyone and change with small changes in your training daily activity, your body changes, etc.


Thanks Phil. Assuming that in the beginning stages, someone can lose fat and gain muscle at the same time, is this with a diet that has caloric surplus or under the caloric needs?
