Hi guys I have a question concerning working up in weight.Lets say you are on a body split routine and on chest day you plan on performing 4 sets of flatbench as one of you exercises, do you perform the highest amount of reps you can with the weight as you you increase weight? if you start with 100 and work up to 160
There are SO many variations. My favorite is starting light and working up in weight for sets of five. When 5’s become a real struggle, drop to triples and hit your top 3rm. If you’ve been training a while and have good spotters, try then for a max single.
You may end up performing 10 sets or more but only a few will be all-out work sets.
