Okay, only a couple of replies and already I’m quite possibly about to ask a stupid question.
I thought “halflife” was with regards to the steroid still being active in the boday i.e. still working it’s magic.
What I want to know is, how long you would need to leave it say between your last dose of gear TO being tested for drugs. And with this, which steroids clear out the quickest.
EG - the gym rats often comment that Deca stays in the body for a long time, so if they have a test date, then they leave tons of time in between.
Is my question and halflife the same thing???

You are not far off however you can test positive for most steroids long after the drug leaves your system. Methods for testing athletes are constantly being improved and researched. Realistically an athlete who dose not compete at top level e.g olympics is unlikely to be exposed to such a high standard of testing.
As far as I know it costs upwards of ?600 to test an athlete for the full list of IOC banned substances(its a big list). As to exact figures regarding detection times I dont know and if you find any I would take them with a pinch of salt.
BTW the halflife is the time for half the steroid to decay, therefor if you do the maths its plausible that small traces could still be present long after the user has stopped taking the drug.
Olympians and other top end athletes use custom made designer steroids. They cost a lot of money and are untraceable. Also as far as I know there is no way of testing for HGH at present although the IOC anti doping body has promised that there will be one day.
