How Long to Dial In a Protocol Before You Give It Up?

I had pellets too. For me, they are a little too invasive and I ended up having a pellet come out of the incision. Maybe it was the Dr’s fault but I never tried again.

I had a pellet come out a few times as well. That’s why I stopped. Doc said I didn’t have enough fat on my backside so it was harder for me to keep them in. My brother has been on pellets for years and loves them. He hasn’t had any come out.

I think they’re are the easiest form of TRT to manage. No E2 or hemoglobin or hematocrit worries. Pellets go in and let them do their thing…go back in 3-4 months and repeat.

Thanks. I started high though. I was at 40mg EOD to start and felt like I was vibrating. My T levels were supraphysically high as you can see in my historical bloodwork… too high as far as I’ve researched (for my purposes). My prostate was tight and just didn’t feel right. I’m not sure going higher than that made any sense at the time. But I defer to those in the know. All I want to do is feel better (better energy, no headaches / heaviness, normal libido); not become insanely muscular.

Totally understand. Just so you know, I would never suggest someone try something that I have not already tried myself. I have been where you are and I felt terrible. About 5 years ago I found a UGL source and basically went a little crazy at first like a kid in the candy store.

I’ve since settled down a lot and I’ve learned a lot from this forum. Proper hormone levels will change your life and you should strive for that.

You should also know that the majority of Drs are either:

  • limited in their knowledge of TRT yet continue to practice;

  • base their knowledge on old and dated information or;

  • are completely ignorant of proper TRT treatment and they compound their ignorance with arrogance.

Yes… I’ve already had poor medical advice in another life so I know all too well the damage that can be done. Fortunately my current GP is allowing me to “doctor” myself to a certain degree. But he’s not going to start scripting me AI’s and other stuff. So, I pushed him to get me into a men’s clinic where they specialize. With knowlege I’ve gained here and from what I’ve researched on my own, I think I’ll be able to tell whether or not this HRT specialist can lay out a path worth following.

Again, a little apprehensive to start anything that messes with my Estrogen as there seems to be two camps on this (like everything). One says don’t mess with it at all and the other says you should lower it with additional medicine / AI. I do like the idea of the pellets but again, anecdotal evidence. But it may be worth a try… not much to lose at this point.

I guess I could go back to a higher dose but I’ll still have the Estrogen / ratio challenge if what you wrote in regards to the ratios is correct.

That’s 100mg/mL. Pretty low concentration.

Well it seems to be kicking my ass pretty good. I don’t think I have options here in regards to prescribed injectable Test.

So any concensus here at all?

  • Lower dosage to 20mg EOD (280mg / month) or 31mg E3D (279mg / month).
  • Or contrary to what I understand to be the issue (T too high, E too high) up my dosage to what and to what frequency?
  • Also thinking of moving to 13mg ED protocol.
  1. Wait for my specialist appointment next week and see what they want to do
  2. Take an AI - pretty sure I can’t get this from my GP so I’ll have to find somewhere online that delivers to Canada. What kind? What dosage? What frequency?
  3. Throw in the towel on IM injections and give pellets a go
  4. Stop TRT all together and suffer for my remaining years (least favorite option)

With an appointment next week I’d probably wait until after that. May not get much/any help but you can discuss exactly what youve been doing without having changed things a few days before the appoint ment.

Look into sourcing the ai in the mean time.

I don’t think pellets will help, you can adjust IM dosing on the next injection but pellets, once on are in.

No I don’t think you should give up.

Maybe try lowering the dose but wait until after the doc appointment though.

I get that it’s frustrating, I’ve only recently seen a glimmer after 2 years and working my dose up to 180mg/week in 3 doses. Though that’s also with 90mg of nandrolone, so maybe the 2 combined it starting to get me close, don’t know yet. Still some room for improvement, but I also need to lose weight.

:+1:

…….You can always go back to injections if pellets don’t work. It seems like there’s nothing to lose at this point by trying pellets

Just an FYI here. Insertion of pellets does require a small incision and they give a local for that. The injection gun looks like this: image
and they don’t do stitches, just a butterfly bandage. You are limited in your activity for about a week after the procedure.

You went more frequent and felt worse. I know there is a tendency on this forum to blindly advise daily or EOD no matter what. That is not always the right thing to do. You are have been supraphysiologic levels since you started, and still are, in spite of the ridiculously low dose relative to level. Advising you to increase so that you have supraphysiological levels doesn’t make any sense whatsoever, you already have those. So, higher trough makes you feel worse, and you have high levels. I’m not a rocket bioligist or anything, but logic dictates that you go back to once a week and lower your dose a little and see how that goes. Or wait and see what the specialist says, but either way I’d be heading towards where I felt best and not further towards where I feel worse.
