I try to do whatever makes me feel good at the time. I try to avoid painful situations, guilt, shame, etc.

Never let your life get to the state where you ask yourself, “Is this all?”

Jam as much livin’ and learnin’ into each day as you can.

Cheers

I always keep two things in mind:

1)If you have your family, friends and your health, all the rest is smoke and mirrors.

 1. “No-one can make you feel inferior without your consent”- Eleanor Roosevelt.

I have a disciplinary hearing tomorrow and might lose the best job I’ve ever had in my life, but I’ll still have #1. #2 will help me sit upright in my seat and look my interrogator in the eye.

Always look on the bright side, people :)
I got completely exonerated!

I try to improve on myself on a daily basis in one aspect of my life. From my lifting, to my recovery to my diet. Other areas are work, posture, friendly deeds, doing extra things around the house, doing nice things for my girl and my family and dog.

And I try to help out one of the largest industries in the country (maybe world) on a weekly basis by utilizing their product(s).

industry: porn.

I’ve for along admired TC’s motto about bettering himself intelluctally, physically etc.

Without too much detail, I’ve had an average year. I kind of find myself at a cross roads.

I guess I want to know, what are the non negotiables in your life?
Obviously training is a given.

I am pretty happy with how I look and my strength gains, I am nothing to most of the people on here but I have improved and I will continue to.
So that’s the question. What do you do to live your life your way?

I don’t subscribe to someone else’s idea of manhood.

So this website doesn’t have an idealogy and attract people with similar values?

Yes, it attracts people who want to (1) read about weightlifting, (2) talk about weightlifting, and (3) buy supplements.

You’re on a commercial site which exists to sell its products. Perhaps you’ve confused it with a dingy bar basement where we all box after-hours while searching for life’s ultimate purpose.
Awesome posts.

They live their lives by not referring to themselves through reference to a marketing device used by a website.

On a related note, how do Captain Crunch-men live their lives?
I live next door to Captin Crunch!

At 50+ years old I have learned a couple of things.

 1. Nothing is written in stone.

 2. Keep an open mind, there’s so much out there.

 3. Honor and honesty will make reflecting back in time very enjoyable.

 4. Never hit a child.

 5. Try to do something everyday that makes you smile and every now and then something that scares you.

 6. No one deserves respect, they must earn it.

 7. Always be prepared to fight for you and yours.

 8. Some laws are just plain STUPID!

 9. No can make you do anything.

 10. If you get the chance to fall in love, don’t pass it up. You don’t get many chances.

I respectfully disagree with this statement, SL.
EVERYONE deserves respect initially. It’s what they do later that determines whether or not I continue respecting them. Just as I feel I deserve everyone’s respect.

I agree,

There is basic human respect that is given until the individual reveals that he or she is a douchebag.
