I have never used straps until today… I have pulled 190kg last year and felt like my grip wasnÂ´t the limiting factor (back and grip could handle the same weight), and after training with only dumbells at home for 3months started to lift in another gym. When i first tried to pull i did 170kgx2, but now my grip is a very limiting factor, part because seems like my back and legs are stronger and part because in this gym the bar are smoother.
Today i tried straps for the first time and only pulled 170kgx1, and missed the second attempt! Seems like i didnt use the straps properly… Anyone here have experienced this? Initially pulling LESS with straps than with a mixed grip?
My idea was to start a workout with overhand grip, keep adding weight and use a mixed grip, and then add more weight and use the straps.
