Really, it’s total calories that you have to be conscious of when cutting, but lowering carbs has certain hormonal advantages when it comes to fat loss, so when you’re removing calories from your diet it makes sense to start with the carbs. You don’t want to remove them completely though otherwise your gym efforts will suck ass.
Fat sources in general tend to be more nutritious than carb sources as well, so that’s something else to consider.
If I were you, I’d do something like:
-200g protein
-100g carbs
-fill in the rest of your calories from fat
That should get you losing weight.
