How Are You Doing Jump Squats?

Just wondering how some of you are doing the jump squats.
I like the exercise however injuries seem to be around the corner.
I’m doing them with dumbells which i hold alongside my body. The downside is when i land, the dumbells "pull"on my arms and shoulders. This doesnt seem like a smart way do do them…

Question: How do you guys perform the jump squats safely? With dumbells or a weighted vest or…?

Seems like a bar on your back is the most logical.

With appropriate weight, there shouldn’t be much of an issue regarding safety.

I use a bar with at most 65 lbs. and do a full squat jump onto a small box.
