Horrible Music

So I was at the casino with my friends, and for some reason this casino has loud music going on everywhere (some good, some bad). All of a sudden this horrible music comes on where it goes “they call me Stacy… that’s not my name…” I go wtf is this shyte, and my friend’s sister tells me it’s the Ting Tings. When we’re in the car leaving, she decides that she needs to play some more of their horrid music. Not a single one of their songs was good or even catchy (she was singing along).

How in the hell are they popular? I’ve listened to high school bands pump out shit better than this. It seems like these days if you can get on the radio… you’re in, regardless of quality.

I can at least understand stuff like Soulja Boy. It sucks, but it’s catchy as hell. Hot chicks love to dance to it, so I can’t complain. But these Ting Tings… they just suck. Sorry, I just had to get it off my chest.

I have never heard of these assholes, and wish I didn’t see this thread and then google them. Thanks for ruining my day! I would avoid riding in your friend’s sister’s car if I were you. If for some reason you do on a regular basis, I suggest putting some crazy glue in the disc loader…

Radio and popular music is pretty much a cesspool of talentless drivel. I find if I’m getting to know someone, and they cite any top 40 bullshit as their favourite music, I instantly write them off as being someone I don’t want to know.

Also, a pet peeve of mine is when people say they like all kinds of music and give me shit and say I’m narrow-minded for not liking rap, r&b, dance, etc… but then you couldn’t fucking pay them to listen to any metal or something that’s not played in clubs. Hypocrites.

The Ting Tings are cool.

Thought this was gonna be a thread about lil’ wayne…

He fits into the category, don’t worry.

…This statement right here makes your entire argument against bad music invalid.

But for the record, the ting tings are a fun group, and they got radio plays because Apple decided to use one of their songs for an iPod promo commercial.

You think you’ve heard horrible music?

Not a Rick Roll, but much worse.

Yay, Soulja Boy sucks. I just like the results of Soulja Boy - lots of girls dancing with minimal clothing. At least he doesn’t crank out shit on a weekly basis like Lil Wayne…

I could improv 3x better music than that shit.

I live in the NYC area and our only half way decent rock station, K-rock has been, after eight years, replaced with a fucking dance music station. Now we’ve got nothing.

That’s not my name.
That’s not my name.

Gotta admit she’s a great lyricist.

As Mr. Blood said, I used to listen to the radio from time to time, but it would only be K-Rock, but now that they’ve been bought out, I only listen to my iPod.
The age of intelligent music isn’t completely gone, but it has withered away due to mainstream mindless rap and hiphop. (Not all rap is unintelligent, but all the shit on the radio is)

Does anyone hate rap?

Give it time. You’ll get sucked in like everyone else did with rap, hair metal, and country-pop.

I do…BUT I love some hip-hop. Anybody can “rap.”

Whether you shit twice a day…or five times, shit is shit. Regardless of the garbage Lil Wayne is cranking out…Soulja Boy is still not on the same level as “Weezy F,baby…please say the baby”…lol.

Yup, and I hate hip hop as well.
