HIIT and Soreness?

I am currently on a bulking diet and doing Waterburys total body training. On my off days I wanted to do no more than 20 minutes of HIIT to maintain a low body fat, not decrease it further which would be impossible during a bulk.

I just finished day one, and it really was a great workout and I even felt soreness the next morning. I was curious, if I am sore does that mean I should not do the HIIT for fear it will cut into gains and just rest instead?
