HIIT and Metabolism

A person’s body burns fat for hours after performing HIIT, right?

What happens when you go to sleep after HIIT? Does the fat burning come to a halt? Is all that effort wasted when going to sleep a few hours after a HIIT session?

I ask because I do mine in the afternoon (after work) and I want to take full advantage of EPOC, revved up metabolism, etc. Goal being fatloss.

Thanks in advance for your opinions and thoughts.
