High Ferritin and Low Testosterone

Hoping someone can help me interpret my lab values. Initially, I went to the doctor with fatigue, diagnosed with low testosterone. After a series of T-therapy, it remained low and I was referred to an endocrinologist. She found I have high ferritin levels, tested me for hemochromotosis, which I was negative for. She recommends I return to my family doctor and possibly see a hemotologist.

Following are my abnormal levels with fasting (all others were normal):

Iron profile: UIBC:100 (low), % saturation: 59 (high), Ferritin:756.7 (high)…actual iron was within normal range.
Other labs: Testosterone: 235 (low), red blood count: 5.53 (high), hemoglobin: 18.3 (high), hematocrit: 52.8 (high), MCV: 95.5 (high), MCH: 33.2 (high), bilirubin: 1.1 (high), ALT: 57 (high)

Symptoms include fatigue, weakness, weight loss, frequent headaches, sex drive is there but have trouble finishing occasionally.
Any input is helpful. Awaiting appointment to return to family doctor and then probably waiting again to go to another specialist.

Thanks!

You have iron problems and low T. You cannot do TRT unless you can get your blood issues fixed.

Eliminate any iron fortified foods. That means processed breakfast cereals and many commercial breads.

You need to be bled! This can be done soon, push for that. You may need a few back to back sessions.

I do not think that blood donation sites will work with you at those levels.

Please read the advice for new guys sticky.

We like to see lab work. There are many problems hiding the the normal ranges.

What is blood pressure?

Do you have TSH, T3, T4, fT3, fT4, LH, FSH, CRP

When do you think that these issues started? Any other events leading up to that time frame?

What drugs are you taking?
What supplements? - any with iron?

There may be liver issues.
