I just learned that I had a herniated and degenerated disc at S1. I was wondering if having a disc issue in the sacrum would mean a different approach to rehab then say the Lumbar spine. It happened in 09 but I just got to actually see the MRI and doctors report this week. Needless to say I am a little angry that the spine ortho said I had a "perfectly functional back" when in reality I had a discogenic issue.
Sorry to hear that man. I have two degenerated discs at S1-L5 and L5-L4. The best exercise for rehab is the reverse hyper extension. Your gym probably doesn't have one but I'd recommend buying one and keeping it at home anyways. Best $700 you'll ever spend. I spent $1500 on physical therapy and another $800 on chiropractic work and neither helped me anywhere close as much as a reverse hyperextension machine. Check out Westside for videos and different models.
