Help With Injured Finger

As of last week I both switched training programs and took up boxing. So for the past 9 or so days I’ve been training boxing every other day, and lifting almost every day. I know this is probably overtraining, but that’s what I did.

So I went to the gym on Friday and when I went to Bench I felt this sudden pain/weakness in my pinky finger. After a few days it started to swell, just a little. I can’t really grip anything that well with my pinky, yet I have complete and full range of motion. It starts to feel sort of sore and I can’t grip weights that well. Also, my knuckle right above it is slightly yellow/bruised.

I really hope I didn’t break my finger, I just started icing it. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I don’t want to stop training for boxing or lifting.

What kind of gloves do you use for boxing? You may need bigger ones if they’re not protecting your hands well enough.

Wait a couple of days, and if it doesn’t get better, go see a doctor.

And stop worrying about overtraining.
