In the summer of 2016 after years of bodybuilding I decided to go on an extreme diet to get really lean. The diet consisted of 1500 calories and on most days I burned 800calories on the gyms treadmill. Needless to say I got ripped in 2 months and kept the diet and training for 6 months until december 2016. After I noticed I stopped getting erections in the morning and throughout the day and feeling numbness in the genitals, low libido, low sperm volume, dribbling after urinating.
Whenever I workout and sweat my armpits and genitals are competly dry (apocrine glands) In December 2016 I couldn’t take it anymore and gained the weight back. It has been 18 months and I still have all the symptoms of low t or whatever. I have never taken exogenous steroids or anything. Here is my blood test:
SHBG: 22.2nmol (16.5-55.9)
Total T: Has been 450ng/dl about 3-4x One went up to 600ng/dl
Free T: 12ng/dl
LH: 5.0 (1.7-8.6)
FSH:3.7 (1.5-12.4)
E2: 13pg/ml (11.3-43.2)
TSH:2.5 (0.35-4.95)
Prolactin 301 (73-407)
Progesteron 0.12 (0-0.13)
You testosterone doesn’t look terrible, estrogen on the other hand looks low. Extreme dieting can cause Reverse T3 to increase which can then block Free T3 at the receptors making you hypothyroid.
Very high Reverse T3 cancels out excellent Free T3.
Im 23.and havent had an erection since i started this training and diet. Its been 18 months and I have not had an erection since…I can get one but it needs physical stimulation to be kept up at 70 percent
I do have alot of symptoms of Low E2 but the doctor is pretty much brushing it off. Also how can I have normal test but low e2, when I have never taken any drug etc.
Just wanted to ask why I should check DHEA?
your 23. first get some viagra or cialis so you can fuck like everyone your age. Its ok to take this medication while you figure stuff out.
it could many reasons why e2 low. But your testosterone is on the low end for your age.
if dhea-s low, taking dhea can help increase e2 and maybe T a bit. dhea is available over OTC in the US.
YOu should also get a metabolic panel blood lab. Liver function and creatine is included in that panel. maybe you over did the training.
Also, a lipid panel and full thyroid panel.
Low E2 is dangerous, find an experience doctor because the one you have is way out of his area of expertises if he is overlooking low estrogen. Low estrogen is the smoking gun for low testosterone.
Raising testosterone is the only way to increase estrogen.
systemlord, is there anywhere I can contact you privately (social media) Im 23 and really desperate. The test I took here in Europe doesnt even say what kind of test it was
You said Extreme diet. You need to check lipids, iron panel, vit D, magnesium, zinc , vit b12. Glucose, am cortisol, acth. Perhaps you caused your adrenals to shut down.
Need to look at what you are eating and supplements.
you need to get all the labs mentioned in my last post and the post before that one. Need a dr that will help. Its tough.
you have decided to take care of yourself and decided that you will not live like this. so be a little more patient. 1 step at a time.
