Hello T-Nation, Tell Me What You Think

happy new year!! definetly feeling the 2010 new year, new life motivation… im 24 5’6’’ 160lbs. not new to lifting have been for years on and off but i had one hell of a summer last year and im trying to have a better one this year… ive been working out pretty strong for about 5 months now (5 days a week, hour and a half at the gym) and not just working out but the nutrition side of it also. i think im pretty strong for me size my max on bench is 245, squat is a little weak 225 about 6-8 reps for 3 sets… just started doing pull ups finally able to do sets of 10 now…

compared to lots of other people i see in the gym i feel my workouts are more intense, i really dont fuck with machines just the barbell dumbells and my own body weight, my cardio is weak, cant stand tredmills, i got some hills around my house and im ready for them i just cant find time, got some belly fat im tryin to shed, but i quit drinkin for the winter and quit smokin pot for my new years resolution. and thats pretty much it for now. excited about this forum and would appreciate some feedback. thanks for takin your time to read this.

well you didnt really ask any questions haha but i read the part where u said you got a little bodyfat you are trying to shed but u only weigh 160. id suggest focusing getting stronger and bigger for now. you prob wouldnt look to impressive if you cut down right now. anyways thats sweet that you quit drinking and smoking pot. good luck with the training man

5’6 160 is suprisingly dense if muscled up. plus, if your somewhat lean you can trace your muscle gains easily. drop junk food and “extra food” (i count dressing, pop/soda, deep freid green beans from TGI Friday’s in this category) and increase fruit, eggs, oatmeal etc to enhance your potential to drop body fat. try joggin once a week, thats what im tryin to do too.

its a long road man, but you seem to have a good mindset. get good at what you like, then focus on what you ignored

yea i gave up fast food and soda about 5 months ago… eggs and oat meal almost everyday with protein shakes tuna and chicken, cottage cheese, tryin for no carbs to zero carbs at night, im using ‘pro complex’ 60g protein and bcaa 5000 for every shake and i have twin labs amino fuel for before workouts was using black powder NO but ran out, not really sure if it was workin or not… have done a juice cycle in the past and will be starting another soon soon im hoping my numbers will rise quickly. bout to hit the gym here in a few hours… thanks for the feedback
