Log Push Jerk:
185 2x
185 2x
185 2x Just trying to feel out this form. I’m not any good at it yet, but I need to learn this.

The gym owner bought gymnastics rings like months ago and never put them up. So today Chia was like “wtf dude let’s just hang these off the tall rack.” So I played around with some ring dips. Holy shit that is a whole different animal. My best set of BW dips on the parallel bars is 50. I would probably struggle with 10 on the rings at this point. I cannot wait to lay into on today’s workout.

That being said, I’ll see how things to today, but I think I’ll need to lay off of everything besides I guess squats and deads for a few days. My entire left arm is basically fucked for some reason. Mostly the bicep, a decent amount of fuckage in the shoulder, with just a little bit in the tricep and forearm. The whole chain is out of whack. I can’t straighten my arm without intense pain. I’m not sure what really initiated this, but it’s been like weeks now that it’s been like that so I’m probably not giving it enough time to heal between upper body training movements.

Is your arm like nerve pain or something? Wtf. Also, good job on push jerks man.

massage

C’est Bon!

You may have a partial tear, and the muscle contracted.

Do you have any new bumps or anything?

Think it’s tendonitis related. My elbow will pop every once in a while like joints affected by tendon issues often will. Just some strained tendon stuff, probably a little swolen. If I would be smart enough to lay off of it for the appropriate length of time it’d probably dissipate.

Funny you should say this; I have been talking about going to this really good masseuse for the past like 3 months and I need to fuckin stop procrastinating and actually get it done. This is definitely happening though.

No fortunately no disfiguration of the muscle. It definitely contracted around some injury though as your body will do I guess when it’s trying to protect the affected area. Bicep stays pretty damn tight all day long.

Well you all are going to think I was just being a bitch about my arm, cuz I had an awesome workout. Looks like it doesn’t affect my pressing ability too much.

I did take the rumble roller to my left lat for a solid like 10 minutes though. I thought I was going to pass out from the pain haha, but it very, very noticeably helped. Not sure why the issue is unilateral. Could be related to the fact that my left is my supinated hand on deadlift.

Press:

185 5x
225 5x
275 2x

70’s 10x
75’s 8x
75’s 8x

Ring Dips:
3 sets of 10

Holy cow ring dips are difficult. I was maxing out around 10, truly; I wasn’t just stopping there. What a great movement though; I can’t wait to improve on these. I imagine it will strengthen my stabilizers greatly. My arms were so unstable on these today. As Jim Wendler would say, they were “shaking like a virgin on prom night.”

Rope Pushdowns:
4 sets of 10

Ah, that was a very productive day. I feel a lot better about overhead after that at least.

Great work man.

So many gym PR’s lately. Any news on acquiring yoke/stones/tires, etc? You’ll turn over completely eventually anyway…hehehe

We’ve got a tire around 400-600lbs? I have no fucking idea how much tires weigh. Heaviest stone is 240lbs. I have the mold and enough concrete on my back doorstep right now to make a 300-330lb stone. I need to do this.

We REALLY need to get a yoke though. I’ve toyed with the idea of making a chain one like Chase Karns did, but I dunno.

315 5x High bar volume PR. I don’t remember what week I was on, but I’m not a patient man, and I was bored with going up 5lbs each week for a million years till I got to 315 so I just went ahead and did it. Achievement accomplished!

How is the arm?

Improved. It’s still a little tight if I extend my arm with a supinated palm, but better. The problem is as soon as it feels okay I’ll probably do 50 reps of curls with 110lbs and twice that for skull crushers and then it’ll back to square one lol.

Challenge accepted.

Srs when you get better curl 135 max reps kthxbai.
