I went to see my second Endo today at KU School of medicine. I was hoping they would be more up to speed on the proper protocols as recommend here, and by other Doctors. They are not, but at least they are willing to work with me. He wrote a script for 10000unit bottle to be taken 2000IU 3 times weekly. I looked up the dosage here, and per KSman it should be 250IU EOD.

I also stopped by Walgreen’s to see if 10000IU was the smallest bottle they had and what it was going to cost. They told me it was the smallest available and they could have it tomorrow. After my insurance it would cost me $150.00. I didn’t have a lot of time to look on here for more info. I work 2nd shift and want to get it tomorrow if I can. I just want to make sure I am correct before getting it.
It is major PITA trying find a Doctor that knows about TRT!

The larger dose was what was used in a short term study of HCG’s efficacy. It’s the only dosage reported in the literature, so of course it must be the right dosage for everyone!

$150, AFTER insurance, to purchase what would cost one third of that price on the street!

So, you’ve discovered that institutionalized medicine is inept and corrupt. Take that information, and everything else you can find on the subject, and use your best judgement. You have an industry approved source of the drug, which is more than some of us have to work with. I used the lower dose when I took Cyp and needed the HCG. Now I use just a small amount of unestered T as a supplement, and my balls don’t need the HCG any more.

What’s unestered T?

That’s pretty high for HCG - mine is $5 after insurance (Express Scripts). Make sure that they are getting you a generic. You can take that 10000IU vial and mix it up, and it will last you 6 weeks or longer taking it 250IU EOD. The 2000IU 3x a week isn’t good. Maybe as a way to prompt a restart or after a cycle, but not for long term maintenance.

I have pretty good insurance I don’t know why it cost so much. I haven’t picked it up yet, so it might be the insurance isn’t even covering it. I will shop around next time.

Mine covers it as a fertility med…maybe you should check into it that way.

Walgreens left me a voice mail last night that they miss qouted me the price and it was going to be $175.00 and that I needed three vials because it was for single use only. I called a local compounding pharmacy and got a price of $85.00. I went and picked it up and it came with 10ML of saline with .9% alcohol. It said it was good for 60 days in the frig. Allready mixed it and took my first dose. Wahoo!

It is good for 80 days as may will attest. 10,000 is not single use, it comes in a multi-dose vial. You ended up dealing with an idiot. There is a great TRT doc near you, not cheap and does not take insurance.

Yeah I hear you. It seems almost everyone out there is incompetent in doing there job. I didn’t even bother arguing with the Pharmacist about it. Only reason I was having them fill it is they are close to me, and I was anxious about finally getting the script, and getting started. It gave me a good reason to shop around, which I would of done on the next refill anyway. Glad I did now, I found Pregnyl 10000iu for $85.00.

Get it delivered dry and reconstitute yourself. Use 5ml BA water and inject 12.5 insulin iu [.125ml] for 250iu.

Yeah I used the 10ml bottle that came with it. I did as you suggested in another post. Injected water against the inside of bottle wall, while gently swirling it around. Did my second injection today.

I didn’t want to post to early about positive results from the HCG thinking it may be the placebo effect. I am on day 4 of taking the HCG and I noticed a difference the very next day after the first dose and continue to. I feel better mentally, cognitive skills etc. Kind of hard to put in words. I wasn’t expecting this to happen, as I am taking it for the physical appearance of the testes and the ache. I haven’t noticed any difference in the size of testes, but it seems the aching is going away.

Many report an improvement in mood with hCG and this seems to be transient. There seems to be some direct receptor interaction in the brain. Some report nothing. A few find that the effect on the brain is negative, less libido and energy. No absolutes, which seems normal in TRT/HRT.

I certainly feel better when I have hcg in the mix…my first two had me on T-only. That was before I found this site and got my current doc up to speed. hcg made a big difference for me. Glad it’s working out for you!

Yeah it was something I wasn’t expecting. I wanted it for the boys and the ache. It’s about time things are working in my favor. Anything else you noticed with it?

I was talking to my wife a while back about getting the HCG and what I wanted it for. She told me that she had noticed, but didn’t want to say anything because she thought it might upset me. I told her I really don’t like them pulled up tight and aching, more then the fact they are smaller. I asked her if it bothered her, she said no at least it didn’t shrink your penis. lol

Definite improvement in mood, and general feeling of “well-being”. That, and my boys are normal sized :wink:

I am still feeling a lot better mentally from the HCG. Like I said before this has been a pleasant surprise because I got it to take care of the atrophy, ache, and shrunken nuts.

I would like to know from others that have been on HCG for a while, how long did it take for your testes to return to normal size? Mine are definitely bigger now then when I started 2 weeks ago, but it’s been so long I don’t remember how big they used to be?

I am also still experiencing problems with my testes being pulled up tight to my body during normal activities. If I am laying around, sleeping, relaxing, etc, they will hang more freely. I’m sure this is partly because of the way we are designed. Blood flow is routed to the appropriate areas according to our bodies needs. I do however remember in the past that I had times like this, but also had times when they were looser. It is uncomfortable when they are that tight. I have been drinking more water thinking that hydration was contributing to the problem. The strange thing is I don’t seem to be urinating anymore with the extra water I am drinking.

Anyone got any input?
