HCG, 3000 IU Three Times Per Week

#1

FINALLY it arrived on Monday of this week. So far I have taken two injections of 3,000 IU. I feel fine so far. Granted this is only half a week in. My next doctor's appointment is in early March. We will see what the levels are. I know people are sharing their experiences with monotherapy so I might check in here from time to time too. I think sharing personal experiences, ESPECIALLY if one has a competent doctor, is useful for other patients. Thankfully we can share our experiences on the net now.

We did discuss that 9000iu/week was dangerous in your other thread. You do not have a “competent doctor”.

3000iu’s? Im still very new to this so excuse me, but isn’t that a VERY high dose? When I was on HCG, 500iu’s everyday made my estrogen sky rocket and messed me up until it went back down.

Granted I felt great for the first 4 days, but by the 5th day I couldnt maintain an erection and I felt very lethargic. Not to mention I had one of the worst acne breakouts I’ve ever had on my shoulders/upper back.

Watch yourself closely BH, I don’t see this working out well for you. I’m basically on 1/5th the dose you are taking and have elevated e2.

I know caution has been advised with this dose and I do take what you say seriously. However, it is the dose I’ve read that is used for spermatogenesis in several academic works I’ve come across. I am simply using the drug according to prescription. The guy has taken care of me for almost thirteen years now and I trust him and think he’s great. He has taken care of several on this board and was the chairman of urology of a hospital. There is a collage on his office wall of babies and thankful families. I am positive he knows what to do and he does make adjustments and take lab values; hence the quarterly or as needed visits.

Anyway, I made this thread to share my experience at whatever dose of HCG monotherapy I use, or changes made, well being, or whatever. Like I said, I think it’s important men share their experiences concerning such matters. I know some guys I befriended or became acquainted with from this board that were panicking to find a TRT doc before I sent them to my doc.

I will let you know. I have read on other forums of men taking this dose, or greater (10,000 IU per week) and feeling fine. Like I said, it’s the type of high dosage for spermatogenesis I’ve read.

As we see here, it is considered a high dose. However, if you look at the accompanying drug information pamphlet for APP brand HCG, for hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism, one of the prescriptions is 4,000 IU three times a week for six to nine months, and then followed by 2,000 IU three times per week for three months.

I’m four days in, 3000 IU this past Monday, and second dose yesterday. I feel fine. I will report back in this thread.

Interested in seeing how this turns out. Wish ya the best man.

I sure will. I assume he is going to check them in the first week of March during my visit, or perhaps wait til a full month has passed to see where the levels are at. So the results will take a few weeks, but I want to share them.

lgs: Do you have any experience with HCG monotherapy?

Thanks for adding to the thread bro.

I do not. I do use 250iu EOD along with my trt. I think your dose is too high. I am curious to see what happens to your E2 and also the sperm count.

Yeah, many here think it’s too high, but as I’ve said above, I am simply taking as prescribed by my doctor who I have been with for over a decade.

I’ve been shut down for the entire time I’ve taken TRT for almost thirteen years. As was explained to me, and as I’ve read, the dose for inducing spermatogenesis after shutdown is what I take, and 250 IU a few times per week is for maintenance while taking T.

But I am not a doctor. So I go by my doc who, as I said, is flexible and takes into account symptoms, not just numbers. For example, when I took gels, he started me at 5 grams per day. I told him I felt a little better, but not my normal self. So he increased to 10 grams. Another time he noticed by hct getting a bit high (but not criticially high), and suggested I go back to 5 grams. I went back and told him I just don’t feel right on 5. He replied something like, “OK, that’s alright. Go back to 10. We just don’t want hct to get too high, but if you are not feeling well, go to 10.”

When he first gave me the script for HCG, I said, “Don’t some people use HCG with TRT?” He replied, “Yes, but to induce fertility, this is how it’s done.” I told him, as he knows, I am VERY fitness and health conscious and with a new drug, I just want to make sure I feel good and that I don’t feel like myself when my T is not 700 or so and above as was shown from going to him for all this time. He replied that he will make sure that I am feeling good and that we get my levels where they need to be.

So as we can see he’s not some stubborn guy who states something like, “You’re stuck with this dose! No complaints!” He prescribes a dose, schedules lab and quarterly and as-needed visits, and adjusts. I haven’t sent one person to him that didn’t have success, and my brother and I have referred almost a dozen people to him. I think he’s great.

I will report back.

I’ll have to check my pamphlet with my APP hcg but I swear that dosage was for boys who didn’t go through puberty. (can’t remember the clinical name for it right now)

I will look tonight and see exactly what it says for males on mine. Although I’d think they should be the same.

This guy is a bodybuilder, not an MD, but has a related point.

#17

Having a trusting relationship with your doctor, as great as it is, doesn’t change the fact that the dose will be too high. My initial GP was a great man, but wanted to put me on a once a month Test Cyp shot (stupid). Ignorance doesn’t discriminate.

If you value an opinion of a seasoned doctor, as you put it, why are you linking sources from a pro bodybuilder? You are not researching objectively. You are looking for sources to support your already cemented point of view. Want something highly controlled and objective on HCG dosing? Read this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15713727

With all that said, I am not saying do not go with 3000iu/week. HCG is known to be a weak FSH analog. If 3000iu is needed to conceive then fuck it, do it for few months and try to deal with high E2 as best as you can. Once pregnant, staying on 3000iu in the long run would be silly.

Goodluck.

#18

your balls are probably fucking humongous on that high of a dose.

#19

Do what you gotta do Brick. Sounds like you have a doctor who’s truly looking out for your best interest. If your labs come back all screwed up or you start feeling like shit, He sounds flexible and smart enough to make a change.

I hope that this works out for you.

Not yet. It’s only one week so far.
