Hammer Grip For Front Raises?

I just found an article which says that I should use a hamer grip when I do front raises for shoulders. If not then the exercise doesn’t work for the anterior deltoid.

Does anyone know if tihis is true ???

When I used to do them, I’d switch grips just to change it up. But nowadays I do more military pressing and handstand pushups…beat the hell out of the shoulders. Ive lost fondness for the front raise.

I don’t think that one needs to do much specific work for the anterior deltoids as they receive a ton of work from any type of pressing exercises. But if you must do them, a hammer grip is superior.

Amen. 99.99999% of trainees would be better off devoting that volume to the posterior delts.

OK thx guys

Technically speaking, the hammer grip should put less stress on the long head of the biceps/glenoid labrum complex.
