Grow! Recipe Contest

Awesome van/choc/banana shake:

1 cup low fat vanilla yogurt
1 cup skim milk
1 cup water
2 scoops vanilla Grow!
1 scoop chocolate Grow!
1 banana

Makes 1 blenders worth; approx 3 shakes.

Grow cake icing

Mix 6 scoops of chocolate LC GROW with 16 oz of heavy (whipping) cream. This can then be used as a cake icing or as a simple pudding with no carbs to speak of. Vanilla works fantastic, too. It will make a healthy buttercream icing (add just a TB of skim milk to thin it).

The perfect protein/fat meal:

1.5 cups water
.5 cup fat free cottage cheese
2 tablespoons peanuts
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
1 packet artificial sweetener
1 scoop Chocolate Low Carb Grow

Low Carb Grow cookies/snack cakes

2 cups rolled oats (put them into the food processor and make them into flour)

Add 6 scoops of Low Carb grow
Add 24 OZ of cottage cheese

Blend well.

Grease a cookie sheet. Drop 4 0z size piles of dough on the sheet. Bake at 300 for 13 minutes.

You’ve got a good chewy vanilla cookie.

Makes 10 4 oz cookies 240/26/24/4

It takes about 15 minutes to make the batter and put it in the oven.

Variations

Chocolate Low Carb Grow + 3 TBL of Natural Peanut Butter

Makes a Reeses Cookie.

Add peanuts for a crunchy cookie

The best recipe for protein bars that I have ever used is a ripoff of one in an older Berardi article (I forgot which one…) It makes a great P/F meal.

2 scoops L/C Chocolate GROW!
2 Tbs. flax seed meal
2 Tbs. Splenda granular
1/4 cup natural PB (I like crunchy)
3 Tbs. water

Mix all of the dry ingredients together in a bowl, then add the PB and water. Mix well. At first it won’t look like enough water, but keep on mixing, and soon it will begin to clump up into one big ball. If you add too much water, the mix will become too sticky and gooey, so don’t use more than the 3 Tbs. Once it is well mixed and is clumped together into a big ball, form into two bars, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate/freeze as desired. This is a great P/F snack at approximately 340 Calories, 25g protein, good fats, and trace carbs.

nice and simple shake… 2 cups skim milk or carb countdown(more or less is fine depending on the consistency u like), 2 scoops LC choc grow, 1/4 cup almonds, 2 tbsp natural PB, 1 banana

whoops, forgot to add that u want to blend it all up, might make it easier to drink.

1-2 scoops Vanilla low-carb Grow!
12-16oz Skim Milk
1/2-1 cup Blueberrys (or other berries)
1/2 cup Oats
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 packet splenda

Use regular oats and add after already blended and then blend the oats for a short time and let sit in the fringe until ready to eat(drink) otherwise use quick oats and blend at the beginning to blend the oats almost to a powder and enjoy right away.

Cinnamon-Roll Protein Shake

This yummy protein shake tastes like the icing on a cinnamon roll but doesn’t contain all the added sugar and calories. I learned about it from a Charles Staley’s private forum. Mix the following ingredients in a blender:

Ingredients:

-2 scoops Vanilla Low Carb Grow!
-1 tbsp sugar-free instant vanilla pudding
-1/3-1/4 tsp Cinnamon
-1/2 tsp imitation vanilla (or 1/4 tsp extract)
-1 packet Spleda
-a few dashes butter flavor sprinkles or butter-flavor extract
-8 oz. water (or low-fat milk)
-3 ice cubes

Enjoy!

This is hardly a special Grow recipe, but here goes. This is my basic Grow shake…

2 scoops Grow! (I use Lo-Carb Grow)
16oz spring water (or milk)
2 tablespoons plain fat free yogurt
1 tablespoon flax oil
1 tablespoon powdered lecithin granules

Blend until desired consistency; I don’t think you’ll get very good results in a shaker. The lecithin helps to emulsify the flax oil and adds phosphatadylcholine.

After you have the basics, you can start mixing in other things. I’ll add fresh bananas or fresh strawberries to vanilla Grow when I want more carbs.

Peanut Buster Parfait

250g cottage cheese
1/2 scoop oatmeal
1/2 scoop chocolate grow
1 scoop of seasoned dry roasted peanuts

The non-peanut ingredients are pretty adjustable in terms carb and fat levels depending on your goals. I add the oatmeal for the texture difference it makes. Vary the quantities according to taste (i.e. more chocolate and/or more peanuts).

Just stir a bit and don’t tell DQ I lifted their product name…

GROW! Pancakes

1 Scoop of Low Carb GROW!
3 Egg whites
1 Pack of Oatmeal

Mix the egg whites and GROW! together until you get a batter consistancy. Then mix in the pack of oatmeal. Cook in a pan like a pancake and serve. Use sugarfree syrup to add some sweetness.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Grow! Mancakes

4 eggs
1 cup old-fashion oatmeal
1 cup cottage cheese
3 tablespoons natural peanut butter
3 scoops chocolate Grow!
Some milk

Crack the eggs into the blender. Fire up the blender and start mixing the eggs. Add the cottage cheese, the peanut butter, and the Grow!. When the mixture starts getting gummy, add some milk to thin it out. Add the oatmeal last. Cook em up on a skillet.

I usually eat a couple right off the skillet with a nice glass of milk and keep the rest in the fridge to eat later. Syrup? We don’t need no stinkin’ syrup!

This is my favorite version of the mancakes. You could tweak it about a hundred different ways.

This is a great source for a quick, simple meal that you can take at any time:

1-1/2 Cups of Oatmeal Boiled in Water
2 Scoops of Grow (Flavor of Choice)
1 Splash of Milk

I generally stick to LC Grow mixed with water and flax. However, I am a little more creative when I make shakes for BF. Here are a couple he really likes…

I occasionally buy a can of pumpkin pie filling and freeze it in an ice cube tray for the following:

Pumpkin Pie Shake:

4-5 cubes of Pumpkin Pie Filling
1 banana
dash of Cinnamon
1 cup cooked oatmeal
24 oz skim milk (this one is better with milk)
3 scoops Vanilla Grow!

Blend.

My two favorites are simple and common:

Breakfast: 16 oz 1% milk, two scoops Grow, 1 large banana and 1 cup ice.

Pre-bed: 12oz water, two tbsp all natural peanut butter and 1 cup ice.

YUM!!!

But I also keep an emergency scoop in my car for the long nights out at a bar in case I need some protein. My buds like I am strange for going to the car to slam down some Grow real quick.
