Grip Strength After Surgery

So first off, I want to say I’m sorry for so many posts I’ve made lately, but I’ve had a lot of complications with my surgery.

Basically, in order to move my nerve, they had to cut out a part of one of the muscles in my forearm, somewhere in the Flexor Carpi (that’s what I think she said). Anyways, I’ve lost an unbelievable amount of grip strength in my right arm. I’ve been using straps for both arms, because it helps a little, but I’m wondering if straps are impeding my recovery.

I mean, if I’m not using a crutch, then I’m not fully working the grip, right? I usually don’t use the straps until my grip starts to fail, but I’m still not sure if this will help my growth.

I generally try and do grip work anyways, to help build back some of the muscle, so I don’t think it’s that big of deal that I use straps, but I just want to make sure that what I’m doing isn’t some big mistake.

By the way, thanks for the help everyone, this site has got me back on track faster than I could have imagined.
