Grinding in Hip

If I bend my right hip so that it makes roughly a 45 degree angle with my torso and externally rotate it, I hear and feel a loud grinding in my hip. I do not have any pain, but this grinding is concerning.

Any thoughts on what this may be or how I can treat it?
