Does anyone have any recommendations, these instructionals would need to be on basics. I'm only going to be able to wrestle once every few weeks so a great isstructional would be very helpful. Thanks.
hey you might also want to check out flowrestling.com
It is essentially a website entirely dedicated to wrestling videos, and there are plenty of good quality technique videos. Plus its free!
Thats the legit title and the author was a former national level coach and competitor.
It not only covers moves from every position you can think of, but it does a great job of describing situational use as well as baiting/setups
I haven't bought anything yet, but check out http://www.scientificwrestling.com/
And flowrestling is a great site. They have a segment called technique tuesday that has a lot of good moves.
Wrestling is really not something you can learn from a book, or video.
You can only learn it from time on the mat.
I would not count on being able to improve, by working with a book, or working on your wrestling
once every few weeks.
this user on Youtube has some decent videos.
yeah, that pretty much hits the nail on the head. Knowing how to do a move is very based in feeling. Really, when I imagine doing a move I can "feel" the move more than I can visualize it.
Randy Couture put out a pretty basic one called "Wrestling for Fighting"...its pretty good.
Needs to be repeated.
But I know how it is, you want to supplement your training and a book/video is all you can manage :-/
