I saw this on the news today. I’m already used to working with firefox. If I do decide to change to Google Chrome, I’ll probably wait a little longer before they fix any remaining bugs.

It has porn mode. Any page you view wont show up in history or search history.
Sold!!

Not that I would ever need it.

That’s the rumor…

Although, the Web 3.0-ish plan (web-based OS / applications) is probably more likely. Or at least AS likely.

Lovin’ it.

There’s something similar out there now:

http://www.thinkgos.com/

Linux Distro, but instead of apps, it’s just linked to google apps. The shitty computers they sell at walmart come loaded with this OS.

What would a totally web based OS look like?

Really? Faster than the latest Safari in OS X?

(someone confirm, please)

Watch them keep in Beta status so they don’t have to provide tech support for it. Bastards.

You mean like the entire OS being a aggregate of apps provided by an ASP?

Chrome is faster in VMWare Windows XP on my Mac than Safari is natively in OSX for me. I can’t wait to see how the Mac-specific version handles once they release that.

Now that’s understanding your user base.

Or evidence of how Google’s software engineers choose to spend the 20% discretionary work time they are allotted

More reason to update my resume and apply for a job there.

Is anyone else not seeing a download link now? I was looking forward to giving this a test drive.
Are you in Windows? If not, you won’t see a download link.

It’s not a real browser until they make it for the mac.

I’m playing with it right now, but my scroll wheel on my mouse, or whatever it’s called, won’t work with it.

The browser is dope but you know Google is spying their asses off.

If Chrome is based on Webkit, I can see Apple releasing Safari 4.0 with performance similar to Chrome.

I’m curious:

A) How Chrome handles the browser Acid test

B) How well it handles flash

C) How well it handles Java
